John Proctor, retired Group HR Director of Dunbia, is Chairman of the Food and Drink Training and Education Council Limited (ftc), supported by a highly experienced food industry board.
John joined Dungannon Meats in 1991, when it was just one factory with 75 employees based in Dungannon. Since then he has seen rapid and sustained growth in the company which now has three sites in Dungannon, one at Ballymena, two in ROI, two in Wales, three in England and one in Scotland with a workforce of over 2000. The company name was changed in July 2006 to Dunbia (NI). John was appointed Group HR Director in 2000, later becoming Dunbia’s Company Secretary in 2006.
He retired in 2012 and took over as Chair of the Meat Training Council and latterly the Food and Drink Training and Education Council following the charity’s realignment in early 2013.
John is involved in a number of local charities and Church activities in his home town of Portadown.
